Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a Commercial Manager to support the continued growth of a specialty chemical business serving industrial water treatment, mining, oilfield, pulp & paper, and related process industries throughout North and South America. This role will be responsible for developing and executing commercial growth strategies focused on expanding existing customer relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and driving profitable growth across a portfolio of sulfur-based chemistries and downstream derivatives. The Commercial Manager will serve as a key liaison between customers and internal stakeholders including operations, logistics, finance, supply chain, and production planning teams to ensure strong commercial execution and long-term business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Develop and execute commercial and sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives and EBITDA growth targets

·       Manage and grow existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities for additional product penetration and market expansion

·       Identify and develop new applications and end-use opportunities for sulfur dioxide and related chemistries

·       Build and maintain a strong commercial pipeline focused on profitable growth initiatives

·       Develop value propositions and business cases for new products, applications, and complementary chemistries

·       Collaborate with product management, operations, logistics, and customer service teams to support customer requirements and production planning

·       Maintain strong relationships with customers across commercial, technical, supply chain, and procurement functions

·       Monitor market conditions, customer demand trends, competitive activity, and raw material impacts affecting the business

·       Support contract discussions, commercial negotiations, and pricing strategies

·       Assist with account receivables management and support efforts to minimize overdue balances

·       Utilize CRM tools and commercial reporting systems to manage customer activity, opportunities, and forecasting

·       Support safe work practices and maintain compliance with company safety standards and behavioral safety expectations

·       Travel regularly to customer and prospect sites throughout assigned territories

 

Skills and Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline required

·       MBA or advanced business education preferred

·       10+ years of commercial, sales, account management, or business development experience within the chemical manufacturing industry

·       Experience supporting industrial markets such as water treatment, oil & gas, mining, pulp & paper, food processing, or specialty chemicals preferred

·       Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing operations, supply chain processes, and bulk chemical logistics

·       Experience developing commercial growth strategies and managing strategic customer relationships

·       Strong negotiation, communication, and business development skills

·       Demonstrated ability to drive profitability and identify new market opportunities

·       Experience working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce preferred

·       Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and matrixed organizations

·       Strong analytical, organizational, and execution-oriented skillset

·       Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight travel as needed

·       Valid driver’s license and passport required
