Summary

We are seeking an experienced Stationary Engineer with strong multi-craft maintenance capabilities to support the safe and reliable operation of critical utility and production systems within a manufacturing environment. This role combines responsibility for boiler and utility operations with hands-on mechanical maintenance activities across a variety of industrial equipment.

The successful candidate will serve as a key resource for maintaining steam generation systems, compressed air systems, cooling utilities, and associated infrastructure while also supporting maintenance and repair activities involving mechanical, piping, welding, rigging, and basic electrical systems. Description

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, and utility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Serve as the site's licensed Stationary Engineer or designated backup in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and operating standards related to utility systems.
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities on utility and production equipment.
  • Support piping installation, modification, and repair projects involving carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and process tubing systems.
  • Perform welding, cutting, brazing, soldering, and fabrication work to support maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, gearboxes, blowers, conveyors, mechanical drives, and rotating equipment.
  • Assist with equipment alignment, machinery installation, rebuilds, and precision maintenance activities.
  • Utilize machine shop equipment and precision measuring tools to support repair and fabrication efforts.
  • Execute rigging and material handling activities utilizing forklifts, cranes, hoists, chain falls, and related equipment.
  • Support maintenance planning efforts and assist in managing spare parts inventories.
  • Apply basic electrical troubleshooting skills while adhering to established electrical safety procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, safety, and equipment performance.
  • Complete ongoing training and continuing education requirements necessary to maintain licensing credentials.

Requirements

  • Maryland Grade 1 Stationary Engineer License required.
  • Previous experience working as a Stationary Engineer in an industrial, manufacturing, chemical, food processing, pharmaceutical, power generation, or utility environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within a multi-craft maintenance role.
  • Strong understanding of boiler systems, steam generation, compressed air systems, cooling towers, and plant utilities.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial piping systems, valves, pumps, and mechanical equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience including stick welding, cutting torch operation, brazing, and metal repair.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing rotating equipment such as pumps, gear reducers, blowers, conveyors, and related machinery.
  • Familiarity with rigging practices, crane operations, lifting devices, and industrial safety requirements.
  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems and safe work practices.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, piping schematics, and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
