Summary

Rapidly growing industrial technology and manufacturing organization seeking a Project Engineering Manager / Senior Technical Integrator to provide technical leadership and engineering oversight for large-scale capital projects supporting global growth initiatives. This role serves as the owner's representative and single point of accountability for all engineering and technical matters throughout project development, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational handover.

The successful candidate will function as the primary technical integrator, ensuring alignment between process design, mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, instrumentation and controls, utilities, construction execution, and operational requirements. This individual will provide technical assurance, challenge engineering decisions when necessary, and drive project execution while maintaining strong working relationships with engineering partners, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

In addition to supporting individual projects, this position will play a key role in developing and standardizing engineering systems, project execution processes, technical standards, and best practices that can be leveraged across future facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of major capital project experience, process industry expertise, process safety knowledge, and the leadership skills required to successfully deliver projects exceeding $100MM in total installed cost.

Description

  • Serve as the client-side Project Engineering Manager and technical authority for all engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership and technical oversight across process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, controls, utilities, and infrastructure disciplines.
  • Manage engineering interfaces between EPC contractors, licensors, vendors, construction teams, commissioning personnel, and plant operations.
  • Develop, implement, and govern project engineering execution plans, standards, procedures, and work processes.
  • Establish engineering requirements that align with company standards, industry codes, regulatory requirements, and technology provider specifications.
  • Lead engineering design assurance activities including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL reviews, Management of Change (MOC), and technical risk assessments.
  • Ensure process safety risks are identified, evaluated, mitigated, and appropriately escalated throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables to support project schedule, cost, constructability, operability, and maintainability objectives.
  • Ensure engineering packages and deliverables are construction-ready and support successful field execution.
  • Drive integration of process units, utilities, offsites, infrastructure, and plant-wide interfaces.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple locations, cultures, and organizations.
  • Communicate project status, technical risks, and key decisions to project leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop and continuously improve corporate engineering standards, project delivery systems, and best practices to support future growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting major capital projects within chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, oil & gas, energy, industrial gases, specialty materials, or other complex process industries.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Project Engineering Manager, Lead Project Engineer, Technical Integrator, Engineering Manager, or similar leadership role on large EPC-executed projects.
  • Proven experience supporting projects through FEL, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational handover.
  • Experience managing EPC contractors, technology licensors, engineering consultants, and major equipment suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of process safety management principles and risk-based engineering practices.
  • Working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines including process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Ability to evaluate technical issues, make sound engineering decisions, and influence stakeholders in complex project environments.
  • Experience developing engineering standards, work processes, systems, and governance structures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning activities.
