Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer provides day-to-day technical support to manufacturing operations to help achieve safety, environmental, quality, production, and cost objectives. This role partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Technical teams to optimize plant performance, troubleshoot process issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. The Manufacturing Engineer also supports process trials, participates in HAZOPs, provides on-call technical support, and drives operational excellence in a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment. This is a salaried exempt, day shift position designated as Safety Critical.

Description

  • Support safe and reliable plant operations while adhering to INEOS Pigments' Process Safety, Behavioral Safety, and Life Saving Rules.
  • Partner with Operations and cross-functional teams to optimize unit performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor process performance, investigate deviations, and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with technical resources to resolve operational challenges.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and develop improvements to increase safety, reliability, quality, and efficiency.
  • Investigate equipment and process failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable technical solutions.
  • Coordinate plant trials with the Technology & Innovation (T&I) team and operating units.
  • Provide on-call technical support for plant troubleshooting, process calculations, and operational issues.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain operating procedures and technical documentation supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Participate on HAZOP studies, reliability teams, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze operating data and provide statistical analysis to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Support SAP process recipes and other manufacturing system requirements.
  • Perform additional engineering assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • 1–3 years of engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of chemical manufacturing unit operations including reactors, distillation, heat transfer, evaporation, drying, milling, filtration, pumping, fluid flow, material handling, and utility systems.
  • Experience with titanium tetrachloride (TiCl₄) and titanium dioxide (TiO₂) manufacturing is a plus.
  • Understanding of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and their application to process modifications and capital improvements.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions; Six Sigma experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), ISO systems, industrial equipment, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with process testing methods and pilot plant operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
